LA-based house music producer Borgeous has released a brand new single titled ‘They Don’t Know Us’ and from the sound of it, it might become a major spectacle in the club scene. According to Borgeous, festival-goers are calling the track “the raver’s anthem” and rightfully so because the track is a total beast. The electro-heavy track features a vocal performance by close collaborator Julia Michaels.
Borgeous explained to Billboard how he came up with the track during an interview with the magazine:
“When I went in the studio for this one I wanted to make a feel-good, happy song that was kind of a love song but also stood for something else at the same time,” Borgeous said. “It’s so awesome that the community of ravers and people who go to festivals are all calling this song the raver’s anthem!”
He went on to express his excitement over anticipating people to sing along to ‘They Don’t Know Us’ at shows:
“These lyrics stand for something great when people sing along to my songs — like ‘Wildfire’ and ‘Invincible’ — at my shows. I can’t wait to hear them sing this one! At the end of the day, ‘We’re not lost; we’re all just wanderers,'”
Borgeous is no stranger to chart success. The two songs he referenced ‘Wildfire’ and ‘Invincible’ both charted on Billboard’s Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart. He’s also no stranger to the Beatport chart as his 2013 track ‘Tsunami’ was a hit which managed to hit the coveted number one spot within a week of its official release. It also charted in 10 countries including Germany, France, and Sweden, and it hit the number one position in Belgium, The Netherlands, as as well as the UK. It was subsequently named the most played song at Tomorrowland 2013 by Billboard magazine. Those are all pretty big achievements for a relative newcomer.
As with many electronic music producers Borgeous is slowly branching out as he collaborated with hip hop artists Wiz Khalifa, Wacka Flocka, and Whoo Kid on the 2014 single ‘Toast’. With the infusion of EDM into modern-day pop it’s likely that we will see more collaborations of this kind between Borgeous and artists outside of the EDM umbrella.
‘You Don’t Know Us’ is the second single from Borgeous released in 2015 following ‘Zero Gravity’ which features Canadian singer/songwriter Lights. You can listen to the newly-released track via Spinnin’ Records‘ SoundCloud page in the widget below.
