Chemical Brothers Set To Headline Bestival ’15

The 2015 edition of British music festival, Bestival, will take place from the 10th to the 13th of September. Just last week the festival’s organizers announced that this year’s theme is ‘The Summer Of Love’, and now the first phase of the artist lineup has been unveiled and it’s very impressive. Being a British festival it’s only right that a British group headline the show and that’s the case this year. Electronic music veterans The Chemical Brothers have been announced as the headliners, which should be very exciting news fro the group as well as the group’s fans.

Other big names at the festival include Duran Duran, The Jacksons, Underworld, and Tame Impala. These acts will be supported by artists from a variety of genres such as hip hop group Jurassic 5, Britain’s own Lily Allen, Action Bronson, Little Dragon, and Jungle Brothers  to mention a few.

Looking at the usual attendance of the festival which can reach 50,000 sometimes it’s likely that The Chemical Brothers will pull out all the stops and put up a huge show as they’ve been known to do. They’re universally known as one of the few electronic groups who can pack a stadium and put on a show worthy of a venue that big. Their performances usually incorporate the usual EDM elements of strobe lights, huge displays on which a variety of visuals are projected, lasers, and smoke machines. Whether the brothers will feature guest vocalists during their set at the festival is unknown yet.

More performers will be announced soon enough by the festival’s organizers, including 3 more headliners for the 4 day event, so keep your eyes and ears open for that.

Tickets to the festival went on sale shortly after the 2014 edition wrapped up last year. In fact there was  a special payment plan which allowed you to pay for your tickets in installments over a period of 33 weeks. So it only makes sense that some of the tickets have sold out.  However, other tickets are available on the Bestival website.

On the ‘Summer of love’ theme co-founder of the festival Rob Da Bank said

Our theme for 2015 is the Summer of Love… it’s a simple theme and hopefully one that’s easy to embrace. It’s largely a positive reaction to all the bad news and downright evil going on in the world.

We’re not hiding our heads in the sand and pretending everything’s rosy and laid-back but we can, as a big family of 50,000 people, come together, listen to music, party and spread love, even if it’s just for the weekend.

That has always been at the heart of Bestival and its year-round community. Hate out, love in!

Bestival will take place on Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight. The poster showing the first wave of performers is below and you can watch the preview video of the festival at the bottom of the page.
