Electric Forest 2015 Lineup Announced

 newsLineup-1000x500

The Electric Forest Festival is just a few months away and the lineup has now been officially announced. As usual the event will be held in Rothbury, Michigan and it will run from the 25th to the 28th of June 2015. A number of big names have been announced with the most notable one being Skrillex, who’s one of the event’s headliners. Other headlining acts include The String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar, Kaskade, Big Gigantic, and Flume.

Other names that stand out are Paul Oakenfold, Gramatik, and Flux Pavilion. G-Eazy, and Macy Gray who will also perform at the festival stick out like a sore thumb as they are from the hip hop and R&B world respectively; a considerably different scene from EDM. However, there inclusion on the list is likely there so as to give the festival some variety, which is a good thing. The String Cheese Incident will be pulling a triple shift during the course of the festival. They’ll perform an impressive 3 times.

A premature announcement of his participation at the festival was made by Skrillex via Twitter but was later deleted. It caused a lot of excitement and commotion among people who have been waiting for the official announcement and Skrillex fans. The official announcement was made the following day by the festival’s organizers. Whether Skrillex’s premature leak was on purpose in order to get more eyes on the festival is unknown, but if that was indeed the case then it worked.

Apart from the musical performances there will be themed environments and specially-commissioned works of art on display. There will be 7 stages and more than 100 acts will perform during the course of the weekend. It’s one of the biggest annual festivals of it’s kind and has actually been named as one of the festivals you should attend before you die by several publications including this one.

The festival is famous for its amazing and elaborate light shows, display of superior quality art, the golf course, indoor water park, and hundreds of other activities. There’s also plenty of lodging and camping space available so once you get there you don’t have to worry about where to sleep. One thing that’s particularly loved by the festival’s attendees is the Plug In Program which engages them to participate and contribute to the event in various ways.

This will be the fifth edition of the festival since its conception in 2008. You can see the list of schedule performers in the poster below. You can also view the lineup announcement video at the bottom of the page. Tickets can be purchased on the Electric Forest website. However, you need to hurry because some of the entry packages have already sold out.

If you do decide to attend please be responsible and careful as there have been incidences of death at the festival. Last year’s edition saw the death of Brian Allan Brockette which was caused by “poisoning by ingestion” of drugs as per the autopsy. So just ensure you remain safe throughout the duration of the event.
