Eric Prydz and Jeremy Olander Release ‘Prydz x Olander’ Essential Mix

The New Year season always brings with it a myriad of playlists, mixes, or simply compilations of tracks, and 2014 was no different. Eric Prydz alongside Jeremy Olander were featured on one of the most popular dance music programs, BBC Radio One’s Essential Mix. The two hour long program featured the two musicians playing mostly Pryda Recordings tracks along with music from Eric and Jeremy’s techno aliases Cirez D and Dhillon.  Pete Tong, the host of the program, also announced a change in the show’s format to take effect in 2015. He said a back-to-back Essential Mix featuring two unique producers will be hosted once every month. This means Eric and Jeremy were the first to take part in this new format.

This year’s Prydz x Olander Essential Mix is not the first time that Eric has appeared on the show. He previously appeared in 2013 and his mix was subsequently named Essential Mix of the year by Pete Tong. Considering that Eric’s label Pryda Recordings has clocked 10 years of existence recently (in 2014), the mix was a fitting celebration. The label has released a lot of solo records from Eric and collaborations with various artists over the years including Sheridan, The Dukes of Slucca, Groove System, Tonja Holma, Hardform, and AxEr. The most successful single released on the label is Eric’s own Call On Me which was released in 2004 and reached the number 1 spot on various charts in multiple countries including his home country of Sweden, the UK, France, Belgium, and Germany.

His protege, Olander, seems set to take the EDM world by storm with his flavor of progressive house. The best is yet to come for the young DJ/producer. Eric and Olander performed their back-to-back mix like a pair of brothers who’ve been playing together since childhood. The mixing was seamless and smooth. You can stream or download this year’s entire mix at the bottom of the page courtesy of Eric Prydz’s SoundCloud page. The entire tracklist of the mix is also shared below.

Eric Prydz will also be setting off on his Generate Tour in mid-February which will see him driving across the USA to perform in small clubs exclusively. He will start off in Austin and go through Detroit, Denver, and various other cities before closing the tour in San Francisco. The tour is named after a single of his which is scheduled for release some time in the near future, probably before the tour kicks off. He’s expected to perform extended sets which will enable him to dig deep into his discography and play tracks that he rarely plays during performances as well as tracks from his techno alias Cirez D. The tour dates are at the bottom of the page.
